American television adaptation of ‘Let the Right One In’ dropped

TNT’s adaptation of the Swedish film Let the Right One In (original title: Låt den rätte komma in) has been dropped, Deadline reports.

The network has decided not to proceed with the pilot, which was picked up in August but didn’t go into production. The project was written by Criminal Minds and Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis.

The film has become a global success. Based on a book by John Ajvide Lindqvist, Let the Right One In is about a young boy called Oskar who finds solace from bullies in a friendship with a charismatic female vampire. The vampire settles into Oskar’s suburb on the outskirts of Stockholm just as a series of murders in the region start taking place. The film has already had a U.S. remake, titled Let Me In.
